Religious Award Program
The Religious Award Program is open to every scout in Pack 260. It is easy and very rewarding.
Read more about it below and if you are interested, there is information at the bottom on who to
contact to get started!
A Cub Scout can easily earn religious awards provided he has the help of a parent or a close family
member. Each Cub Scout who completes the program will be awarded a religious emblem knot patch (see
patch below) and a very nice religious emblem medal (an example is the Light of Christ Catholic
medal shown below) to wear on his uniform.
Workbook
Leaders can help parents acquire the appropriate religious emblem (award) workbook according to your
denomination and the age/grade of your Cub Scout. These are available from the Scout office or from
Pray Publishers. Workbooks are completed by the Cub Scouts over a few
weeks or months with the advice, encouragement and help of his parent / close family member.
Upon completion of the workbook, there is a review and/or signoff by the Scout, the parent and the
pastor or other church official. The submittal of the completion/signoff sheet or cards from the
workbook depends on the denomination.
You and your Cub Scout can take from now until the end of summer to complete the program. There will
be a special ceremony at the September pack meeting for all Scouts who complete the program.
